Open Journal Systems (OJS) is an open source “journal management and publishing system” developed by the federally funded Public Knowledge Project. Other PKP projects include Open Conference Systems (OCS), Open Monograph Press (OMP), and Open Harvester Systems (OHS).
OJS provides support for the various phases of publishing an on-line journal, including submission and peer review, publication, indexing and archiving. The software is customizable – follow this link for some screenshots of existing journals using OJS.
- The OJS Site on the Public Knowledge Project’s Website provides both practical and technical information about Open Journal Systems. Here you may download the product, or simply do some investigation. A sample journal is provided so you can take a test-drive.
